Volume is calculated from the cross-section area of the chosen shape multiplied by length — a circle for round bar, a square for square bar, a rectangle for flat plate, and an annulus (outer circle minus inner circle) for tube. Weight then follows directly from volume and material density: Weight (kg) = Volume (cm³) × density (g/cm³) ÷ 1000. Material cost simply multiplies that weight by your entered price per kg.
